The Top 5 Ways You Can Get Me to Watch American Idol

Written by Adam Sheets on . Posted in Articles - Music

Let me begin with a confession. I have never watched a full episode of the show American Idol. I can only judge the show based on artists who have gotten recording contracts after appearing on the show and, of those, the only one I care for is Kellie Pickler. (I also confess to not hearing enough of Bucky Covington's work to properly judge him.) Based on that, it seems to me that what the show needs is more true judges and less enablers.

Lately I've been seeing a lot of talk and rumors about American Idol's judges for next season. I humbly offer my top five choices for consideration to the show's producers. Adding any of these individuals would make me far more likely to tune in, not because I necessarily agree with them, but because of their well-known attitudes.

1. Bobby Knight - Former college basketball coach, member of the Basketball Hall of Fame, current commentator for ESPN
